Winter Festival of Central and East European Film

Organised in conjunction with the University of Glasgow’s Centre for Russian, Central and East European Studies this fresh new festival delivers up a fairly up to date and diverse programme of films from the Slavonic nations and beyond. Highlights include Serbian filmmaker Stefan Arsenijevic’s assured romantic opener, Love and Other Crimes, Andrzej Wajda’s latest film, Katyn, an investigation into the slaughter of 20,000 polish officers by Soviet troops during WWII, and a mini tribute season to the great Czech filmmaker Jan Sverák (Kolya, Empties, The Elementary School).
