The film follows the lovelorn misadventures of several individuals in their 20s and 30s. Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Drew Barrymore, Scarlett Johansson, Justin Long and Jennifer Connelly star. The Secret Of Moonacre (U) 103min ••• Film adaptation of The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge starring Golden Compass star Dakota Blue Richards and directed by Gabor Bridge to Terabitha Csupo. When 13-year-old orphan Maria (Richards) uses an inherited book to enter a magical kingdom she becomes involved in an eco-mythical plot to destroy Moonacre Valley. Friday The 13th (18) 97min •• Twelfth outing for this horror franchise (pictured) revisits the original summer camp-set 1980 film with a new cast of bright young things. The results are horrifically thrilling or disappointing, depending what age you are. Marcus Nispel, the man who remade Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre in 2003 directs. General release from Fri 13 Feb.
Hotel For Dogs (U) 99min •• Orphaned siblings (Emma Roberts and Jake T Austin) turn their new foster home into a dog retreat when they are forced to give up an old pooch. Cute family comedy undone by lame dialogue and buffoonish adult performances from Lisa Kudrow, Kevin Dillon, and Don Cheadle. Based on the novel by Lois Duncan. General release from Fri 13 Feb.
The Pink Panther 2 (PG) 91min •• Steve Martin returns as Inspector Clouseau. This time the hapless detective teams up with a bunch of international crime fighters who are as clumsy as he is. Funnier and more comprehensible than the 2006 first film but still fairly tedious. Children seem to love it though. General release from Fri 13 Feb.
