Woody Allen's To Rome with Love - trailer
The director delivers another Europe-set ensemble piece, with Alec Baldwin, Ellen Page and more
Woody Allen looks set to continue his love affair with Europe (following on from Midnight in Paris and Vicky Cristina Barcelona) with his latest release, To Rome with Love. The Eternal City forms a backdrop to various intersecting comedic tales, starring Alec Baldwin, Jesse Eisenberg, Greta Gerwig, Ellen Page, Penelope Cruz, Roberto Benigni and - appearing on-screen for the first time since 2006's Scoop - Allen himself.
True to workaholic form, Allen has wasted no time in following on from 2011's Midnight in Paris, which won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay (and was nominated for Best Picture and Best Director awards as well). To Rome with Love continues his pattern of releasing one film every year, a streak he's kept up since 1982's A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy.
The film is yet to be given a UK release date - it's out in Italy later this month, with staggered releases worldwide throughout summer.
