Dredd 2D screenings around the UK

Pete Travis' comic book adaptation Dredd is being heavily marketed as a 3D film - the official title is actually Dredd 3D, and while a 2D version does exist, it's being treated to a very limited release. After picking up some chatter on Twitter and via SFX.co.uk, we've decided to utilise our vast cinema knowledge and let y'all know exactly where you can see the 2D version.

Dredd

  • Directed by: Pete Travis
  • Cast: Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby, Lena Headey
  • UK release: 7 September 2012

The Raid -flavoured adaptation of 2000AD comic: uncompromising lawman Dredd (Urban) and rookie Anderson (Thirlby) enter a tower block on a case, only to be trapped by sadistic Ma-Ma (Headey). It's the movie Dredd fans have waited for: Urban is good value, Thirlby excels and – crucially – the helmet stays on.

Bitterly disappointed by how few screenings of Dredd are in 2D. I have the choice of staying local and paying an extra 3 quid to endure 3D or travelling for about 2 hours each way to see it.

I'm torn between boycotting it on principle, and as a life long 2000ad reader, supporting it.

Given the screw up they made with Stallone and what looks like a brave attemp to get dredd right for the cinema this time its a real dillema

100 mile trip each way to get to the nearest one to me. Wonder how many ticket sales this has cost them? Scandal. I'll wait for the DVD release I think (since pirating it off a torrent would be illegal, even if it would incredibly quick and easy).

Quite a few lost sales i would imagine - i'm a die hard 2000ad fan since issue 1 and even I'm torn about it. I Image many a potential casual view will be saying "bugger that!"

i'll be travelling over an hour to get to Peckham to see it when theres a multiplex 10 minutes walk from here. Only 2 screens in Greater London showing it in 2D.

I didn't even know Peckham was a real place until this - i thought they made it up for "Only Fools and Horses" - now ill be going there on a sunday afternoon !

Vastly disappointed by the extremely limited 2D viewings in Scotland, one option for the whole country when Belfast gets three!
3D gives my wife and I severe migraines, and thus we are both effectively barred from viewing the film at the cinema. We were both looking forward to the film, and are both now quite angry at Lionsgate for this shameless piece of money grabbing.
