The rights to the magnificent I, Claudius have been acquired by producer Scott Rudin in a $2 million deal.

Leonardo DiCaprio is expected to become attached to the project after he and writer William Monahan failed with a rival bid.

There’s no word as yet if Brian Blessed will be getting involved, but if he isn’t at least asked, there’ll be hell to pay.
