In the big screen adaptation of Tom Perrotta's novel, an unsatisfied couple come together in an otherworldly suburban community. The unwanted presence of a suspected sex offender and the use of an unusual third person narrator add to the 'Twilight Zone' feel in this superb adaptation that is only let down by too much exposition.
