Israeli Defence Force troops prepare to withdraw from a Lebanese fortress they have held for 18 years while being subjected to rocket bombardments from unseen Hezbollah guerrillas. This is the Arab-Israeli conflict seen from the perspective of the ordinary Israeli soldier. With the action subordinated to mood and atmosphere, director Cedar successfully conveys the boredom, claustrophobia and fear experienced by these conscripts.
