Remarkable, breathtaking Western about the last days of one of America's most infamous outlaws. The film opens in 1879 in Glendale, Missouri where the James gang, depleted by arrests, deaths and defections, are about to begin their final crime spree of train and canal robberies. This brutal, slow and beautifully presented endgame drama is a joy, and if country rubes, robbery and outlaw martyrdom are your thing, it is not to be missed.
