Gritty but humorous look at the interlocked destinies of two Madrid prostitutes. Both Peña and Nevárez are utterly convincing in their roles, giving naturalistic rather than showy performances. Aranoa manages to champion the plight of these two women without descending into didacticism, while still criticising society for forcing them into their age-old trade.
