Writer/director Baumbach (of the excellent 'The Squid and The Whale') offers his least commercial work to date. With Kidman miscast as a writer returning home for her sister's wedding, and Black finding it impossible to underplay any scene, it just isn't funny. Rather, it's morose, and full of self-absorbed and infuriating characters.
