Four months after submitting the manuscript of his second novel, author Stephen Parker (Kennedy) decides to pay a visit to his literary agent with his 'metaphorical gun' - namely some highly incriminating photographs. This solidly acted two-hander offers a fairly predictable battle of wills, but any attempts to 'open up' the source material - 'The Agent' is adapted from Manning's own play - are fleeting.
