A beautifully executed portmanteau box of delights that is the brainchild of Palme D'Or-winning Romanian director Mungiu. These vignettes of everyday life under brutal dictator Ceausescu sensitively combine the inbuilt horror of history with a wry humour and a certain affection for this much sinned-against country to form a smart and accessible whole.
