As Holmes and Watson face Professor Moriarty, Ritchie delivers a rather sluggish and unwieldy sequel to 2009's surprisingly successful adaptation. But there is still much to enjoy, including an impressive box of CG tricks, the ‘old married couple’ relationship between Holmes and Watson, Stephen Fry's game appearance as Holmes’ older brother Mycroft, and Hans Zimmer’s jauntily atmospheric score.
