Latest instalments of drive-in screenings to include all your festive favourites such as It's a Wonderful Life

After the success of their Halloween weekender, Edinburgh Drive-in Movies are back again this December with more family features and blockbuster titles to watch from the safety and comfort of our vehicles. With restrictions continually in flux due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the drive-in experience has allowed audiences to reconnect with the magic of the moviegoing experience, and watching films on the big screen.

This escapism is now more important than ever, as our days grow shorter and colder, and rising infection rates restrict our movements once more. To carry us through this difficult winter, Edinburgh International Film Festival and Unique Events have announced a holiday programme running from Fri 18 Dec to Wed 23 Dec.

Audiences are in for a holly jolly good time. From heartwarming blockbusters like Love Actually (Sat 19 Dec, 9.30pm) and The Holiday (Mon 21 Dec, 6pm); classics such as It's A Wonderful Life (Mon 21 Dec, 2pm) and Tim Burton's A Nightmare Before Christmas (Tue 22 Dec, 3pm); and objectively the greatest Christmas film of all time, Die Hard (Wed 23 Dec, 9.30pm), there's a bumper crop of festive films that'll appeal to even the biggest Grinch this Christmas.
