Irvine Welsh Q&A at charity Trainspotting screening

Iconic book-cum-film Trainspotting takes centre stage as its author Irvine Welsh does his bit for charity. A screening of the film will be held at the Dominion Cinema in Edinburgh on Wed 1 Sep to mark the 10th anniversary of Scottish charity Love in Action (SLA), featuring a Q&A with Welsh, as well as the launch of a special competition allowing the winner the prize of being immortalised in Welsh’s new book, Skagboys, the prequel to Trainspotting, due out in 2012. All proceeds from the competition and screening will go to SLA, which provides funding to a grass roots nongovernmental organisation (NGO) running projects in the southeast Indian state of Andra Pradesh, caring for nearly 600 once destitute children in Homes-cum-Schools. Tickets are £20 and available at

Irvine Welsh is a scottish god min,and the fact hes doin a competition to raise funds for SLA is just differant class i say.
Imagine being the one mentioned in his new classic Skagboys,
Cause am sure most of us can relate to Trainspotting,Acid House or Wedding Bells in some way???
Im just thinking we could help Mr Welsh get more funds for those poor bairns by sharing a cringworthy storey of our lifes, also adding a fee of £20 a time, somehow show the man himself we also care with words we never thought we"d share???

wit dae ye hink eh???
