Programme revealed for Sundance London Music and Film Festival

Robert Redford and Tricky scheduled for talks and performances

The programme has been revealed for the inaugural Sundance London Music and Film Festival, to be held at The O2 from Thu 26–Sun 29 Apr. The festival is centred around the screening of 14 films from Robert Redford's annual Sundance independent film festival.

Among the highlights are Shut Up and Play the Hits, a film documenting the final gigs played by LCD Soundsystem in 2011; Safety Not Guaranteed, a Duplass Brothers-produced romantic comedy about a man who claims he can time travel and the reporter who investigates him; and 2 Days in New York, Julie Delpy’s comedic follow-up to 2 Days in Paris, about a couple whose lives are disrupted when her racist family come to visit.

Redford himself will appear at an event with Nick Hornby and T Bone Burnett, discussing the importance of music in film. Trip hop producer Tricky is reuniting with vocalist Martina Topley-Bird for a live run through of his debut album Maxinquaye, and Placebo are also scheduled to play a gig, with more acts still to be announced.
