Director William Friedkin and star Gina Gershon attend, as well as Elliot Gould and Jim Broadbent
The Edinburgh International Film Festival opening gala took place last night, with the UK premiere of William Friedkin's Killer Joe. As well as Friedkin and Killer Joe's Gina Gershon, actors Elliot Gould and Jim Broadbent (attending the EIFF as jurors for the International and Michael Powell awards respectively) also added some star quality to the premiere. The film, introduced by EIFF's Chris Fujiwara, met the artistic director's aims of being simultaneously challenging, accessible and a demonstration of filmmaking talent.
