Justice League poses more questions than answers
- 23 August 2007
The news that Warners are pushing ahead with their Justice League superhero picture has raised a few knotty questions. The studio are driving the comic book adaptation forward for a summer 2009 release and are keen to see it launch franchises for Wonder Woman, the Green Lantern, Aquaman and the Flash. Which is all very well and good, however, summer 2009 had been earmarked for the release of Superman: Man of Steel the sequel to the underwhelming Superman Returns.
Since Superman is a member of the Justice League and Warners are unlikely to want two superhero flicks dominating their summer roster, it looks likely to spell the end for the Kryptonic sequel. There’s also the fact that Superman star Brandon Routh and Batman incumbent Christian Bale have three picture deals with Warners. So will we see Batman dominating the Justice League? It’s a geek frenzy.
