Jolie to carry Atlas

  • 6 September 2007

Angelina Jolie has been lined up to star in the Lionsgate adaptation of Ayn Rand’s 1957 doorstop Atlas Shrugged.

It’s a happy-go-lucky tale positing what may happen were the world’s industrialists and thinkers to come out on strike.

At the risk of spoiling it for everyone, everything goes wrong, the world grinds to a halt and we all learn a valuable lesson about the wonders of capitalism.

Vadim Perelman, he of the hypnotically dull House of Sand and Fog, is having his name stenciled on the back of a fancy chair as we speak and will be working from a draft of a script by Braveheart penman Randall Wallace.
