Film festival premiers at Glasgow Green

The first BBC Film Festival is being held at Glasgow Green, with Sir Ben Kingsley, Brian Cox and Ewen Bremner out for the event.

The multi media event is billed as an opportunity for film fans to talk about and make their own films.

Kirsty Young interviewed on and off screen talent as part of a Meet the Filmmakers event.

Creative Director for the BBC, Alan Yentob said: “I’m delighted Glasgow was chosen as the host city for the event, especially given the Glaswegian reputation for being voracious cinema-goers.

“I hope the Festival will be seen as an opportunity not just to watch great films for free, but to find out more about how films are produced and even how to make a film of your own.”

Organisers worked with partners across the British film industry, as well as Glasgow City Council and Glasgow: Scotland with Style.
