The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus, may get made at some point
- 11 October 2007
I don’t like Terry Gilliam’s films, there I’ve said it – they’re self-indulgent, really not very funny and they make me want to cry.
And Brazil’s rubbish.
So you can imagine the joy at the news his new film The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus has entered preproduction.
Heath Ledger’s going to be in it and Christoper Plummer, Tom Waits, Verne Troyer and Lily Cole as well.
It all seems to centre around some immortal Johnny who made a deal with the devil, Tom Waits, and now travels the country offering the gullible the chance to enter his ‘Imaginarium’ and choose between light and joy or darkness or gloom.
Or some such nonsense, but we’ll all go and see it anyway because he has such a fertile imagination don’t you think? Oh yes he’s just marvellous.
Lord knows when it’s out, though I believe I’m due to be watching television that month.
