The programme of films will screen in Edinburgh University’s Old College quadrangle from 17-23 Aug
Edinburgh University’s Old College quadrangle will turn into an outdoor cinema this month for Film in the Old College Quad, a week-long series of screenings from Sun 17– Sat 23 Aug, featuring a diverse selection of films, showing individually and as part of themed evenings, all for the righteous sum of £5 per outing.
Taking place during the Fringe, the festival will celebrate Edinburgh with a screening of One Day, the romance set in Auld Reekie, as well as an Edinburgh-themed evening which will explore the city’s less sanguine side with showings of 1995’s perennial favourite Trainspotting and underrated black comedy Restless Natives.
Additionally, short films by Animation, Film and TV students from Edinburgh College of Art will be shown, and there’s fun for the family too, with free matinee screenings of kids’ favourites Shrek and How To Train Your Dragon.
