Drillbit Taylor (12A) 101min •• Three school kids who are being bullied hire a bodyguard to protect them in this anaemic comedy starring a miscast Owen Wilson as the titular protector and directed by Steve Brill, the actor-turned-director who gave us the less than singular joys of Without a Paddle and Little Nicky. General release from Fri 28 Mar.
Never Back Down (15) 113min •• Jake Tyler (Sean Faris) is a troubled tough kid with a talent for martial arts. When he is forced to move to a new city with his family he becomes a bit of an angry loner until a humiliating fight at a party gives him a goal, namely to beat the crap out a bully named Ryan McDonald (Cam Gigandet) with the help of mentor Jean Roqua (Djimon Hounsou, pictured). Sub Karate Kid nonsense. General release from Fri 4 Apr.
