BFI LOVE season events to take place across Scotland

The Shop Around the Corner

Scotland will play host to a diverse range of romantically-themed film screenings and events over the next few months as part of the BFI's UK-wide LOVE season.

Screenings include Bollywood adaptation Bride and Prejudice, and classics such as Brief Encounter and The Shop Around the Corner (later remade as You've Got Mail).

Scotland's oldest purpose-built cinema The Bo'ness Hippodrome will play host to Powell and Pressburger's A Matter of Life and Death. And with What's the Grey Matter with Gregory?, pupils will be able to travel back in time and explore the complex science behind attraction, all within an immersive 1980s secondary school.

The Scottish Queer International Film Festival will inject some diversity with sections titled Queer Women in Love and I Do? featuring screenings of Cloudburst, Homotopia, and the Wachowski's Bound.

Screenings take place across Scotland from Nov to Jan.
