Hans Zimmer adds extra dates to European tour
The multi-award winning composer will be visiting Liverpool and Glasgow in addition to Wembley this summer
Hans Zimmer is one of the most called-upon composers in Hollywood, and his film scores are instantly recognisable, having featured heavily in major blockbusters over the past few decades. With a European tour set to begin in May, the incredibly high demand for tickets has resulted in two extra UK dates being announced.
Hans' first ever live tour in 2016 began with two sold-out nights at London's Wembley Arena and continued on with a 33-date run throughout Europe, taking in cities like Paris, Berlin and Vienna. The 2017 tour will see the Academy Award winning composer visit the US, Australia and New Zealand before turning his attention towards Europe.
Hans will be making an appearance at Liverpool's Echo Arena on Sat 17 Jun and Glasgow's SSE Hydro on Sun 18 Jun along with his 15-piece studio band, an orchestra and a choir. The two extra concerts add to the 23 dates already planned, which begin in Helsinki and end in Milan.
Hans Zimmer Live on Tour will offer fans the chance to catch some of the composer's best known works as well as newer pieces from his wide-ranging repertoire. The concert will be split into two parts: the first of which will include some classic scores such as Gladiator, The Lion King, and Pirates of the Caribbean. The second half will bring special guests on stage for reimagined versions of scores like The Dark Knight Trilogy and Inception.
For anyone planning on going to Coachella in April, there's also an opportunity to see Hans there alongside acts like Lorde, Kendrick Lamar and New Order.
Tickets for the Glasgow and Liverpool dates go on sale at 9am on Mon 6 Feb.
