Second installment of the wizarding tale to be screened with live symphony orchestra across the country in December 2017
The Harry Potter Film Concert Series has announced a UK and Ireland tour of the Chamber of Secrets, with presale tickets available from Wed 24 May at 10am.
Hot on the heels of a sell out tour of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone – which saw tens of thousands of fans flock to arenas nationwide to see the first installment of the wizarding tale screened with a live orchestra – it's been revealed that J.K Rowling's second novel about 'the boy who lived' is to get its live concert premiere in December.
Released in 2002, the film quickly became (at the time) the seventh highest-grossing film in history, and saw Kenneth Branagh join a star-studded cast – including Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint – as shady celebrity author, and Hogwarts' new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher Gilderoy Lockhart.
Alongside those precociously talented child actors, the film featured household names such as Maggie Smith, Richard Griffiths, Alan Rickman and John Cleese.
The tour will feature a live symphony orchestra performing, to picture, every note from John Williams' magical score of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and audiences will be able to relive the magic of the film in high-definition on a 60-foot screen. It kicks off at Liverpool's Echo Arena on Fri 1 Dec and stops off in Leeds, Cardiff, Dublin, Manchester and Glasgow, finishing up at Birmingham's Genting Arena on Sun 10 Dec.
Tickets are still available for the concert tour of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which is screening across the UK until the end of May.
