Tris (Woodley), Four (James) and the remnants of the Dauntless race tirelessly hither and thither in part 2 of the Divergent series. Woodley does very well with what she's given, but the other parts are underwritten and it all feels like a build-up to the extended finale of this bewildering and hardly essential franchise.

Reluctant hero Max (Hardy) is drawn into helping Imperator Furiosa (Theron, excellent), who's liberated a group of sexually enslaved women and is being pursued for her trouble by the grotesque Immortan Joe (Keays-Byrne). Precision-executed lunacy, a brilliantly feminist 'western on wheels' with a generous helping of heart.

Life goes on at usual in Bikini Bottom until real-life pirate Burger-Beard (Banderas) causes apocalyptic mayhem; SpongeBob and arch-nemesis Plankton must team up to defeat him. Despite a lazy superhero plot twist in the final act, it has enough colourful characters and hilarious one-liners to keep both kids and adults entertained.

  • Cast: Peter Firth, Kit Harington, Elyes Gabel, Jennifer Ehle

When MI5 bigwig Harry (Firth) apparently commits suicide, his rogue godson Will (Harington) is ensnared to find out the truth. The TV show's big-screen outing is very enjoyable but cinematically pedestrian, neither anywhere near the Bond/Bourne standard nor as grittily realistic as it thinks it is, but Firth and Harington play well together.
