  • Directed by: Abe Forsythe
  • Cast: Lupita Nyong'o, Josh Gad, Alexander England

Miss Caroline (Nyong’o) is a sunny primary school teacher who leads a school trip to the local farm with accompanying adult Dave (England), only to encounter a zombie outbreak. Nyong’o completely steals the show as the ukulele-playing teacher, but England is charming enough, and while it lays the laughs on thick, it doesn’t scrimp on the horror.

In an unnamed Latin American country, a ragtag team of adolescent male and female guerrillas are guarding an American hostage, Doctora (Nicholson). There’s no social or political context: it’s a primal chaotic portrait of the impact of conflict on the soul. A masterful exploration of the inhumanity of battle and the hostilities of adolescence.

A documentary about the INXS frontman, thoughtfully assembled from archive footage and suggesting that his death may have been related to mental health issues relating to a brain injury. Hutchence is a great subject and there’s plenty of fascinating footage providing a fresh context for understanding his troubled life.
