Having got the Bismarcks to reform for our anniversary ceilidh we're delighted to welcome back one of the top bands from the '80's and '90's, Cock & Bull, which has come back together for the summer of 2016. The unique combination of Pete Lockwood's electronic percussion and programmed loop, Pete Martin's guitars and mandocello, Vanda Sainsbury's clarinet and saxophone and Lynn Swain's whistles makes for an irresistibly danceable sound - especially when accompanied by the calling of Michael Catovsky. A splendid time is guaranteed for newcomer and experienced dancer alike.

Back in the '80's and '90's until the beginning of this millennium the GBH Ceilidh's New Year's Eve party was an annual fixture in Godalming's social calendar. Because they involved a fair bit of work and expense to put on the organisers called it a day - BUT, thanks to the enthusiasm of Gareth Kiddier and the support of Godalming Borough Hall's management we are back!! The band for the evening will be The Oxford Nags featuring Nina Hansell (of PolkaWorks and the Bismarcks) on fiddle, Andy Turner (of Geckoes and Magpie Lane) on concertina, Sandy Shallis (of Tinker's Ditch) on melodoens and Gareth Kiddier (of PolkaWorks and The English Contra Band) on keyboards. Calling the dancers will be exciting new caller Gill Emerson. The ticket price will include snacks and as many balloons as you can eat. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for children's admission prices.
