Dancing At Lughnasa

‘Dancing at Lughnasa’ by Brian Friel is a highly acclaimed and multi award winning play. It is a ‘memory’ play, set in the summer of 1936, believed to be the memory of Brian Friel himself wherein he draws upon, and narrates, his own childhood experiences of the home he grew up in with his four aunts and mother, and recalled by him as “those five brave Glenties women” to whom the play is dedicated.
