An Evening With Simon & Oscar (Ocean Colour Scene)

An Evening With Simon & Oscar (Ocean Colour Scene)

In 2015 Ocean Colour Scene celebrated their 25th Anniversary with a sell-out acoustic tour of some of the most prestigious UK Concert Halls,  it was not only their most successful for 15 years, but also their best received, with ecstatic audience reactions every night.

Simon and Oscar are continuing the theme in 2022 with a tour of intimate seated venues, the perfect stages for their acoustic performances of all the big hits and anthems, including The Riverboat Song, The Circle, Traveller’s Tune, Hundred Mile High City and The Day We Caught The Train. These shows are the latest chapter in a remarkable career that’s seen OCS rise from Breton shirt-wearing Stone Roses disciples to one of Britpop’s biggest bands (their 1998 arena tour was the biggest by any UK group that year). In their 30 years together, they’ve enjoyed five Top 10 albums, six Top 10 singles and a mantelpiece full of awards. But behind all the swagger and the style were great songs, with words and melodies that found their way into your head and heart. It’s time to hear these songs again, stripped back but every bit as brilliant.

Fiddler on the Roof

Following their sell out production of Legally Blonde - The Musical in April 2019, Rutland Musical Theatre are proud to present the poignant and hugely popular FIDDLER ON THE ROOF!

Set in the Pale of Settlement of Imperial Russia in 1905 the story centres on Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his attempts to maintain his Jewish religious and cultural traditions as outside influences encroach upon the family's lives. He must cope both with the strong-willed actions of his three eldest daughters who wish to marry for love each one's choice of a husband moving further away from the customs of their Jewish faith and heritage and with the edict of the Tsar that evicts the Jews from their home village of Anatevka. With an ever relevant message, Fiddler on the Roof remains a firm favourite, and includes well known numbers such as Matchmaker Matchmaker, If I were a rich man, To Life and Sunrise Sunset.

With music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and book by Joseph Stein, the original Broadway production won nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, score, book, direction and choreography. It spawned five Broadway revivals and a highly successful 1971 film adaptation and has enjoyed enduring international popularity ever since!

Gary Powndland & Friends

Gary Powndland & Friends

Viral sensation Gary Powndland (pronounced like the shop, but not spelt the same) is back with an all new live comedy show for 2021!

The first of a series of shows to be announced is on 21 December at Birmingham’s Town Hall after sell-outs prior to lockdown across the Midlands and garnering over 10 million views of his videos online!

Gary Powndland is a hysterical, sharply written character and he made me snort laughing.

I’ve been waiting ages to do some shows so I can meet all my new friends and fans that I’ve met online during lockdown. It is an honour to play Birmingham Town Hall, and we will hopefully be able to pay as little tax as possible if you know what I mean mudge mudge wimp wimp

Gary lives in his dead Nan’s house with his sister Tash, her son Kaylied and a family of ten foxes he’s befriended. In this new show Gary’s inviting you round to his place, where he’ll be joined by his sister, Jimmy, and best mate Barry Mullet. “It’ll be a right proper wot a joke!”

*Tash Powndland - *Gary’s younger sister but as he says “She’s like a big brother to him”. She struggled in school and was kicked out aged 13 for head butting a PE Teacher, who’d taken the micky out of Gary’s weight. She’s doesn’t take any rubbish from anyone and is often feuding on social media with her arch enemy Shanice.

Gary never lets me put many videos on his Facebook page so I’m looking forward to getting on stage and telling people exactly how it is. And if you owe me any money from the Avon don’t turn up because I’ll see you outside in the car park afterwards! And you know I will!

Barry Mullet - Gary’s best pal and neighbour who relocated from Scotland 3 years ago “because we all make mistakes”. They feel strongly that confidence is much more important than knowledge and common sense They keep each other informed on modern life when gets confused, which is not uncommon. Like Gary, Barry is single and childless which is clearly for the best and he also insists that he’s not gay without being asked. Barry is very protective of Gary since he went viral and often threatens violence on haters and well-wishers too as he constantly explains “I’m not stupid” whilst tapping his head. Barry doesn’t get most things.

*Jimmy Boones - *is the 79-year-old father of Tash’s deceased boyfriend Mo, who now runs his business selling vapes, fruit and veg, curry runs, airport runs, jeans and anything else that’s in the van. Jimmy still cares very dearly for Tash, and remains close to the Powndland family, although he will fuck everyone right off if there’s a few quid involved. Wolverhampton born and bred, Jimmy's father Eddie, was his hero and taught him the swizzin way of life. From an early age he knew if “it ay nail down then yowm havin it”

Jason Byrne: Audience Precipitation

Jason Byrne Audience Precipitation

He’s back for more comedy chaos! Jason has learnt over the past few years that we all need to “play” a bit more in our lives.

With this in mind, Jason will do what he does best, connecting with the audience in a way no other comic can. Whether it’s inviting or dragging (as it has been known) people up onto stage and making a “holy show of them” as they say in Ireland.

Jason’s Audience Precipitation, will be a laugh out loud, must see show, with a light drizzle of audience participation… ooohhh clever that.

TV Credits Also seen on Live at the Apollo (BBC1), The Royal Variety Performance (ITV1), The John Bishop Show (BBC1), and Father Figure (BBC1) Ireland’s Got Talent (Virgin), Wild Things (Sky1)

Recommended for ages 14+
