The Carpenters: Voice Of The Heart

The Carpenters: Voice Of The Heart

It is now just over 30 years since the legendary Karen Carpenter passed away, she left behind an amazing catalogue of hit songs and golden memories. This stunning show celebrates the music of The Carpenters, and the evening is guaranteed to lead everyone through a magical memory.

Yesterday Once More, Goodbye To Love and Close to You; all the hits that every Carpenters fan adores, plus great medleys put together from their many album tracks, songs that link together from The Beatles and a superb Bacharach and David medley.

A Carpenters country medley with Top Of The World, Sweet Sweet Smile and Jambalaya is in great contrast to the sad and perhaps most popular songs on her last and most poignant album Voice Of The Heart.

With superb vocals from Carole Gordon and outstanding talent from the brilliant Blue Jeans Band and Singers, it will be a "sparkling" night to remember.

A Dickensian Christmas With Robert Powell and Susan Jameson

Accompanied by Clive Conway - Flute, Christine Croshaw - Piano.

Charles Dickens can truly be said to have invented our traditional Christmas. In this seasonal show, we reveal Dickens the celebrity, the social reformer, the actor, the entrepreneur and, above all, Dickens the supreme entertainer.

We celebrate his life and times through his writings and scenes from his best-loved novels, with a seasonal twist, tasting the varied delights of winter ice-skating, Pickwick's Christmas party, the magic of the newly-introduced Christmas tree, festive feasting and philanthropy, and goodwill to all men! Not forgetting, of course, that perennial favourite, A Christmas Carol, and all interwoven with seasonal merriment and music.

Although a writer from the Victorian era, Dickens's work transcends his time, language and culture. He remains a massive contemporary influence throughout the world and his writings continue to inspire film, TV, art, literature, artists and academia.

Tony Stockwell: Psychic Medium

Tony Stockwell: Psychic Medium

Remarkably compelling, amazingly detailed and always humorous.

Popular psychic medium Tony Stockwell has a long established credibility as one of the top Intuitive Mediums and has shared the stage, all round the world, with international mediums such as Colin Fry, James van Praagh and Lisa Williams.

Tony demonstrates his belief that those who have passed can communicate with their loved ones with detailed messages frequently including names, dates and locations and all delivered with emotion, sensitivity and empathy. The evening may include psychometry, photographs, readings and psychic prediction.

Recent legislative guidelines insist that any Evening of Mediumship should be billed 'for entertainment purposes'. Tony certainly uses his natural wit, showmanship and Cockney charisma to entertain, but more importantly, Mediumship has the potential to change someone's life and instill in them a sense of peace, comfort and purpose.

Wild Animal Muses

Wild Animal Muses

After the sell out success of his show last year, local professional wildlife photographer Andy Rouse is proud to bring his all new show to the Centre.

"As a photographer I like to tell the story of all species of wildlife, but over the years there have been some very special animals that I have felt particularly connected to.

It is these animals that have inspired me - from the story of Olive, my favourite leopard, to Muninya the Mountain Gorilla, hear about them all and the captivating images they have given me.

In the second half, I will be talking about atmospheric images, those where the light has been the key, think silhouettes and red light. Inspiring and fun for all as always!"
