Africa On The Square

Africa on the Square returns to Trafalgar Square for the third time on Saturday 15 October. This popular event celebrates African arts and culture. There'll be a range of activities highlighting communities from across the continent.

You can expect a fantastic line-up of entertainment on the day including live music, DJs, dancing and a talent show. Plus an African market, food stalls, fashion show and lots of fun stuff for kids.

David Shrigley: Really Good

The seven-metre-high bronze sculpture of a hand giving a disproportionately long thumbs up, which has the same dark patina as the other statues in Trafalgar Square, is the latest contemporary artwork to take up residence on the Fourth Plinth.

Celebrated every year by Sikhs, Hindus and Jains across the world, the festival of lights draws around 40,000 people to Trafalgar Square to enjoy a stage programme showcasing contemporary Asian music and dance from professional artists and talented community groups. Traditional religious music opens and closes the show.

Pride In London

Members of London's vibrant LGBT+ community, their family and friends march proudly from Baker Street, along Oxford Street and Regent Street, ending in Trafalgar Square with a concert featuring chart acts, musicians, dancers, West End stars and other performers.

Silence In The Square

The Royal British Legion leads a two minute silence for Armistice Day at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month in the square. After the event, the public can place poppy petals in the fountains as a symbolic act of remembrance. A multi-cultural nation united.

West End LIVE

Thousands of people gather in Trafalgar Square to enjoy performances over the weekend from some of London theatreland's biggest shows, plus special guest appearances. This year's line-up includes 42nd Street, Annie, On The Town, The Toxic Avenger, The Wind In The Willows plus Matt Cardle, Charlie Fink, Rachel Tucker and Willemijn Verkaik.
