"A warm-hearted British comedy about striking out against the odds and winning in the most eccentric way."
Annie-Mary (Rachel Griffiths) is an awkward and secretly rebellious twentysomething still living at homewith her womanising, opera-singing father (Jonathan Pryce), the local baker given to making his deliveries dressed as his idol, Pavarotti.
When the Mayor of Ogw decides to raise money to send Annie-Mary’s best friend, Bethan Bevan (Joanna Page), to Disneyland, she adds her neglected singing talents to the motley all-girl pop group, Hinge, Minge and Bracket, and joins the odd collection of characters who make up the population of the village in a frenzy of fundraising activities. Her village friends include her biggest supporters, Hob (Ioan Gruffudd) and Nob (Matthew Rhys), the handsome couple who run the local grocery store. It takes a series of calamities with unexpected silver linings before Annie Mary can finally stand up and claim her freedom.
