Back to the Future Part 3

Back to the Future Part 3
  • 1990
  • US
  • 1h 59min
  • PG
  • Directed by: Robert Zemeckis
  • Cast: Michael J Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Mary Steenburgen, Thomas F Wilson, Lea Thompson

After the elongated trailer of 'BTF2' we're back in 1885 for the third and absolutely final instalment of the series, in which Michael has to face up to longstanding enemy Biff and save the Doc from certain death, except that the latter is much more interested in falling for Mary Steenburgen. The end result is not quite a bad film, but, as with almost every other sequel of a sequel there's an overall slackness which prevents it from lifting off in the way that it should. In almost every sense, we've been here before.

Pixar's delightful tale of a little fish and his daddy's attempts to find him when he gets scooped out of the water by a human. Clever, funny and better than The Little Mermaid (just).

Rocketman

Rocketman
  • 2019

  • 2h 1min
  • Directed by: Dexter Fletcher
  • Cast: Taron Egerton, Jamie Bell, Richard Madden, Bryce Dallas Howard

This Elton John biopic, exec-produced by its subject, could have been a vanity project, but it’s a fun and cute fantasy musical; Egerton as John as exuberant and sympathetic, and the framing device is sensible. Hardly revelatory, but Fletcher does a good job and sprinkles some inventiveness. Classic songbook helps.

Dreamland

Soon Margate will once again echo with the sounds (and screams) of delight and wonder, as visitors old and young enjoy the Great British seaside amusement experience first-hand.

The UK's original Pleasure Park is being re-imagined, ready to welcome a new generation of fun-seeking visitors to an 'old fashioned, yet oh-so-fashionable' world of thrills, amusements and good times.

Where else in the UK can you clamber aboard a host of stylishly restored, recreated and retro-fitted rides and amusements from the Golden Age of British seaside hols?

There'll be more than just brilliant retro rides and amusements. Dreamland will be a world where vintage cool holds hands with modern design, and goes for a lovely beachside stroll.

To keep those smiles wide, we've got your British comfort food favourites, all lovingly made from local Kent produce, We've also lined up a host of unmissable events, celebrating the best of British Culture, each with that unmistakable Dreamland vibe.

Everywhere you look, there will be a wonderful sense of seaside magic bringing rides, classic sideshows and traditional fairground games lovingly back to life.

Not to mention film screenings, concerts and amazing installations too. All part of the great big happy day out that will be Dreamland Margate.
