Bristol Central Speakers

Welcome to Bristol Central Speakers!

We are a fun, friendly public speaking club, and a branch of Toastmasters International - a non-profit, worldwide network of 12,500 communication and leadership development clubs with over 260,000 members in 116 countries. We provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.

We meet at 7pm on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month, at a location conveniently close to Bristol Temple Meads station. Meetings finish by 9pm, at which point there is an opportunity to socialise further at the local pub. Guests are always welcome, and chances are you won't be the only new face!

Meetings are relaxed and enjoyable, and feature prepared speeches, speech evaluations and "table topics" - a chance to practice impromptu speaking. To visit the Toastmasters International website: http://www.toastmasters.org/

*Why join a public speaking club? * - To overcome a fear of public speaking or build confidence when presenting - To prepare for a specific event (e.g. wedding speech or an important presentation) - To develop effective communication & leadership skills - To meet new and interesting people – we’re a pretty sociable bunch! How do I find out more? The best way to find out if Bristol Central Speakers is right for you is to come along to one of our meetings. You won’t be expected to speak so don’t worry, but if you do want to there will be ample opportunity for you to do so. Contact one of the organisers of this group if you have any questions or would like to know more.

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered Exercise Group

Our Exercise Group is for our LGBT+ Community in Bristol, our family and friends can come too. We use our own body weight to Circuit Train for an hour. This means we do a series of Squats, Lunges, Push and Sit-ups, which works our upper and lower body for maximum weight loss and strength training.

As we're a community group, there's the option to socialise with a drink afterward. We're a very friendly and welcoming group and range from different fitness levels.

The session is only £3.50 to cover studio hire and the instructor's fee. Therefore, we appeal to both new and experience fitness enthusiast, where paying an extra £3.50 isn't too much beyond an existing gym membership.

We can exercise while being ourselves, meeting new people and catching up with our LGBT+ friends.
