- Directed by: David Mackenzie
- Cast: Chris Pine, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Florence Pugh, Billy Howle, Tony Curran, Stephen Dillane
Robert the Bruce (Pine) reluctantly accepts Edward I (Dillane) as King of Scotland and agrees to an arranged marriage with Elizabeth (Pugh). This big-budget epic is a little abrupt and choppy to begin with, but becomes an enthralling, blood-drenched history lesson. Pugh is terrific as the shrewd and independent-minded queen.
