The Old Man and the Gun (2018, USA, David Lowery, 1hr 29 mins, 12A)follows the exploits of ageing career criminal,Forrest Tucker (Robert Redford)who leads a group of thieves dubbed the over the hill by the media. The film is based on the true story of a man who robbed banks in leisurely fashion employing a gentlemanly, polite manner but with meticulous planning and great success. Whilst being chased by the police one day,Forrestchivalrously assists kind-hearted widow,Jewel (Sissy Spacek), when her car breaks down on the side of the road and who seems to offer a chance of redemption as their romance blooms.
