Screenstage Studios returns to the Edinburgh Fringe for the fourth successive year - and in 2019 we offer a Encore! - A Drama Showcase featuring several short plays, monologues and spoken-word performances from some outstanding emerging and established actors.The main production will be NOBODY KNOWS THE TROUBLES IVE SEEN with Noel Franson and Noe Bell in a 3-scene play set in Ireland. Married couple Liam and Bridget are in mid-disagreement about going out for dinner. Ill-tempered Bridget cant decide what to do, where to go, if or when she finally decides, what to eat, nor if her brother Philip and his wife - whom she detests - should join them. The dialogue between the pair moves from light comedy to dark drama as deep-rooted attitudes emerge from both.ITS OVER is a compelling and moving monologue performed by Andrew Martin as a young man who decides he has to finally accept the harsh realities of why his relationship has come to a definitive end.SNOW JOB with Freda Macdonell and Maggie Joyce-Anderson is set in a cafe as two strangers meet - with one planning a sinister agenda towards the other.PERSPECTIVES (Anda Magherusan and Kieran Bhalla) offers an interesting slant on both parties views on why theyve ended their relationship.THE SISTERS Laura Begley and Clare Heyburn play Brenda and Carol - two sisters struck by life in an economic underclass.THE MOTHER Begonia Villalba performs a deeply disturbing but compelling monologue of a parent who is struggling to cope with motherhood.SCAR Saira Thomson gives a compelling spoken word rendition on how the vicissitudes of modern life leave their mark on us in so many ways.FRANKS BLACK BOOK Ian Moffat performs as the erstwhile Frank who regales us with details of an online romantic conquest from his trusty note/manual.SETTING A DATE A young woman is struggling to find love so her mother steps in, much to her alarm!
