Vicar's son Ben escapes a summer of bible classes by hitting the road with retired actress Evie, an eccentric, drinking, swearing spinster. 'Driving Lessons' steers a cosily predictable course, as clichéd as any 'the summer that changed my life' drama, although, admittedly the OTT performances of Walters and Linney prove camply entertaining.
