James Frey (Taylor-Johnson) is a drug-addicted writer whose brother (Hunnam) checks him into a rehab clinic. Frey’s own book is adapted by its star and director, and features fine performances from Thornton, Lewis, Ribisi and Taylor-Johnson himself, and while it’s a bit derivative it’s entertaining and thought-provoking.
