Silent Cinema: Feel My Pulse
This film is not currently showing in cinemas.
A night of variety with live music and silent film!
Acclaimed pianist Forrester Clifton Pyke accompanies one of his favourite forgotten films, Feel My Pulse. Bebe Daniels, the greatest female star of the silent film era, stars as a rich but hypochondriacal heiress who inherits a sanitarium. What she doesn’t know is that it is a front for bootleggers and criminals! Delivering lines like, “Keep the vehicle stationary while I lubricate my larynx,” Bebe will have you rolling in the aisles.
Before the film, comedienne, activist, singer, reminiscence, video artist and Edinburgh's Queen of Queer Cabaret Miss Annabel Sings introduces this forgotten gem with a tribute to the ladies of Hollywood’s golden era through song and film footage. She asks the question: now we enter a new decade, what have we learned in the last hundred years to make the next 'Roaring twenties' as groundbreaking as the first!
