Sally (Knightley) is a prim but committed activist who, with artist Jo (Buckley), aims to infiltrate the 1970 Miss World pageant, although Grenadian contestant Jennifer (Mbatha-Raw) has a different take on the contest. A spirited and sincere look at the contradictions involved; despite the slightly fantastic degree of female solidarity, it’s got an impressive sense of balance.
