In her debut feature 21-year-old writer/director Jewson relocates the 11th century myth to the dreaming spires of contemporary Oxford for a cliché-ridden romantic melodrama, where love blossoms between a 20-something teacher at a private school and a handsome local celebrity. Confronted with an unconvincing and contrived script, the cast are left floundering, while the music promo-style sequences are plain embarrassing.
