A naturalistic portrait of contemporary Algeria, which even handedly dissects the story of Kamel (Ameur-Zaimeche), who has been deported there from France after doing time for robbery. Shot in a low-key semi-documentary style, the camera concentrates on the country's prolonged conflict between contrasting notions of tradition and modernity.
