National Theatre Live: Hansard
This film is not currently showing in cinemas.
Hansard is the technical term for the official report of all parliamentary debates.
At a time when our politicians are under ever increasing scrutiny, Hansard takes us back to 1988 for an insider’s view of the unsettled marriage of Tory politician Robin Hesketh. Gentle marital squabbles become barbed and secrets are unearthed in this genuinely funny and strangely disturbing play.
Simon Woods witty and devastating portrait of the governing class was directed by Simon Godwin and captured live in 2019 from the National Theatre in London and stars Olivier Award winners, Lindsay Duncan (Birdman, About Time) and Alex Jennings (The Lady in the Van, The Queen).
