War Horse is based on the beloved  novel by Michael Morpurgo, adapted by Nick Stafford in association with the award-winning  Handspring Puppet Company. This critically acclaimed, international smash-hit play returns to cinemas for the first time this November to mark Remembrance Day.

“astonishing life-size puppets… bring breathing, galloping, charging horses to thrilling life on stage”

At the outbreak of World War One, Albert’s beloved horse, Joey, is sold to the Cavalry and shipped to France. Though still not old enough to enlist he embarks on a treacherous mission to find him and bring him home.

This powerfully moving and imaginative drama is a show of phenomenal inventiveness. At its heart are astonishing life-size puppets by South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company, who bring breathing, galloping, charging horses to thrilling life on stage.

When you’re booking your cinema ticket you’ll notice the cinema has been divided into ‘bubbles’ of one or two in order to maintain social distancing. You won’t be able to book part of a bubble, but you can book more than one: for instance a group of four can book two bubbles of two.

If you can’t find a combination of seats that suits your group please get in touch and we’ll try to help, although capacity is very limited in all screenings.

If you need to book one of our wheelchair seats please contact our box office team on 01382 432 444, or email dca@dca.org.uk.
