Miller revisits France's traumatic experiences under German Occupation during World War Two in this polished and suspenseful melodrama. 'Un Secret' begins in the mid-1980s, with the psychologist François (Amalric) worried by his father's sudden disappearance. As a series of intricately laid family secrets then unravel, the emphasis is heavily placed on the individual's subjective experience and memory of history.
