The brutal true story of Britain's most notorious and dangerous prisoner Charles Bronson is here given an expressionistic makeover. From his respectable Welsh upbringing to petty crime, prison, solitary confinement and tabloid hysteria, Bronson's trajectory through the second half of the 20th century is unique. A cult film for sure. Anthropologically it is invaluable; artistically it is a complex and unforgettable masterpiece.
