Bill Forsyth debuted in 1980 with the absurdist heist comedy 'That Sinking Feeling', and followed it with the out-and-out classic 'Gregory's Girl'. Two more masterpieces, 'Local Hero' and 'Comfort and Joy', followed; but Forsyth's profile dropped somewhat as he branched out into more expansive, American-set films.
